Host a Party for the Auction
Hosting a party is a fun and great way to get to know fellow St. Theresa parents and raise money for our school. It also fulfills your auction donation requirement AND auction volunteer hours! Pay-to-Play parties have been some of our most popular and beloved fundraising traditions of the past, and we are excited to continue this tradition!
Here’s how you can party and support St. T’s!
Go solo or join up with another family to cook up a theme for your party event. Determine the number of “seats” (or number of guests you’d like to host), date, venue, and all the fun details! The party host/hostess sets the budget and can use their $200 donation amount to help fund the fun!
Hosting a party can feel like uncharted waters; here are a few common concerns:
Nobody will come to my party… Throwing an auction party is the best way to get to know other St. Theresa parents. If you’re not convinced, consider hosting with another St. Theresa parent or group of parents. Co-hosting with folks from other grades and/or a friend is a great way to make the planning process fun, split the costs, and ensure a great mix of attendees!
My house is too small for a party… Don’t let that deter you! Host a small group of kids for a sushi making party, movie night, glow party, or host at a bowling alley, or a public park. No idea is too big or too small. Anything goes.
I have an idea, now what do I do?… Choose a preferred date, theme, and number of attendees. If you’re hosting a kid party, please specify age/grade range (ex: K-3). We will be in touch to confirm the date on the party calendar, then your party will be part of the auction for all to bid on. Have a blast, and repeat next year!
So how does St. Theresa raise money off of these parties? At the auction, potential party-goers make a bid or pay a set price to come to your party. All of the payment proceeds go to the school and your donation as the host is the cost of hosting the party. For instance, it might cost you $200 to host the party, but you have 10 party guests who have each paid $100 to come to your party - the school makes $1000!
Please contact Caroline Myers at caroline@myers.net for more information and creative ideas, or to sign up as a host on/before October 29th!
That’s right St. T’s families….It’s Party Time!!
